PUTTING ACCESSIBILITY IN THE SPOTLIGHT

True equality means environments, services, and attitudes are designed to exclude no one. Globally, approximately 1.3 billion people live with significant physical disabilities, yet our society is systematically built in a way that falls short on accessibility. Invalidiliitto wanted to awaken the public to everyday inequalities and reinforce a vital message: accessibility is a human right, and equality is a fundamental right.

Conventional communication is rarely enough to shift deeply ingrained attitudes. This is why Lataamo Creative designed a multi-channel Yhdenvertaista? (Equal?) campaign for Invalidiliitto, built upon a thought-provoking core concept. The campaign launched with an experiential influencer dinner, executed in collaboration with the Charlie Goes To community, bringing the realities of accessibility challenges tangibly close to every participant.

The Yhdenvertaista? campaign demonstrates how the synergy of creative marketing and bold event production can make the invisible visible, elevating a critical societal message with profound impact.

 

THE CAMPAIGN LAUNCH: AN EXPERIENTIAL INFLUENCER DINNER

The Yhdenvertaista? campaign was launched with an experiential influencer dinner at Kulttuuritehdas Korjaamo. The meticulously scripted event was built around the theme Everyday Life – Change – Success which guided the dramaturgy of the entire evening.  Instead of merely discussing obstacles, we made them tangible for the guests: everyday challenges were brought to life by providing only a spoon for a main course that required cutting, or by placing plates on uncomfortably high platforms. Even the restrooms were disguised as storage spaces to deliberately complicate accessibility.

The resulting confusion sparked a profound realization: this is the everyday reality for many. Crucially, the event did not simulate physical disabilities; rather, it made exclusionary structures visible. The objective was to make the influencers stop, reflect, and engage in meaningful conversations about equality, and to explore actionable ways to promote it by dismantling barriers and fostering inclusion.

The presence of experts by experience, alongside representatives from Invalidiliitto, significantly amplified the event's emotional and societal impact. The evening was hosted by Mia Ehnrooth, the leading figure of the Charlie Goes To community.

 

MULTI-CHANNEL EXECUTION

Propelled by the experiential influencer dinner, the Yhdenvertaista? campaign expanded into a comprehensive multi-channel rollout across digital platforms and city streets. The marketing assets captured audience attention seamlessly through digital banners, social media campaigns, and digital out-of-home (DOOH) displays.
